Aakriti Dewan
Prior to joining Cirone Cross-Border Tax & Estate Lawyers, Aakriti earned her LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School. She was a Research Assistant to the Director of her LL.M. program, a renowned Canadian tax law professor, for multiple research projects relating to cross-border and international tax particularly in tax challenges arising from digitalisation, transfer pricing and Mutual Agreement Procedure (MAP).
As a licensed lawyer in India, Aakriti practiced in cross-border and international tax, tax litigation and dispute resolution. She has represented the government (Income Tax Department, India) before the High Court of Delhi in high profile statutory tax appeals and constitutional writ matters. She has also represented taxpayers before the Supreme Court of India and the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal. In addition to her experience in court, Aakriti was a judicial law clerk at the High Court of Delhi.
